Today’s video will give you some more direction on your icebreaker speech, as well as the first in our series of speech tips.
Assignment:
First, continue writing your icebreaker speech. You should be finished with the two page written version of your speech by the end of today.
Second, practice not using filler words. Use the mirror exercise if you are alone, or find someone to help “buzz” you every time you use a filler word. This practice does not need to be long, just two 10-minute sessions is plenty. But it is very important that you do it every school day until you have stopped using filler words.
